2017 AGM Board Election

Applications for Elected and Appointed Board Members

Swimming New Zealand is the national organisation leading the strategy for swimming in New Zealand.  At its 2017 Annual General Meeting in September, two incumbent board members (one elected and one appointed) will retire by rotation.  Both have indicated that they will seek re-election/appointment.

Swimming New Zealand is therefore seeking applications for the two vacant positions from individuals who believe that they have what it takes to be an inspirational leader and provide collaborative and focussed leadership of the sport of swimming in NZ.

Applications are now invited for one appointed and one elected position on the Swimming New Zealand Board, both for three year terms, to commence from the conclusion of the Swimming New Zealand AGM, to be held on Saturday 2 September.

The Swimming New Zealand Board Appointments Panel will look to combine a strong collective skill-set on the board including governance experience, strategic ability, commercial experience, business skills and relationship management. The board will comprise a good mix of independence and connection to the sport.

If you are motivated to be at the forefront of the growth and development of a cornerstone sport within New Zealand and to further develop a positive new culture based on trust, collaboration and disciplined focus we welcome your application for this voluntary position.

Your completed Application Form, together with a covering letter, should be sent in confidence to the Swimming NZ CEO at steve@swimming.org.nz  Applications close at 3pm on Wednesday 12 July 2017.

If you have any questions about the role or process please contact Swimming NZ CEO, Steve Johns, at steve@swimming.org.nz or 021 773 173.
