The start of something extraordinary

Disability and Swimming (Para Swimming)

Swimming New Zealand as an organisation has an inclusive intent with regard to swimmers with an impairment. We see the value swimming has as a life skill and believe it is no different for a swimmer with an impairment (also known as a Para swimmer).

Our intent as a national sporting organisation is to be fully inclusive, supporting our regions and clubs break down perceived barriers to inclusion. We seek to blaze a trail for fostering, developing and growing Para swimming in New Zealand.

In this section you will find useful information about Para swimming. To find out more please contact Cameron Leslie, our National Para Swimming Development Coordinator, on cameron@swimming.org.nz.”

Here you will find useful information on the different swimming pathways available to swimmers with a disability in New Zealand.
