Assistant Coach - Mount Maunganui Amateur Swimming Club

Mount Maunganui Amateur Swimming Club has a vacancy for an Assistant Coach. We currently have a very successful swim program led by head coach, Stan Teokotai-White. The program features a unique blend of highly competitive swimmers, those that swim for sports, such as Water Polo and Surf lifesaving, adult fitness and junior swimmers. 

The Assistant Coach role will be predominantly working with the junior swimmers but must be able to also work with other groups such as adult swimmers. 

This is an opportunity to live and work in sunny Mount Maunganui and contribute to the club's success.


We invite applications from people who have;

  • Technical Knowledge / swim coaching qualification.
  • Experience coaching children, young adults, adults, prefered but not essential.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the squads, Head Coach and Board.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and innovative.
  • Good work ethic and willing to learn and develop in the role.
  • Good self management and initiative.


The hours will be approximately 5.45am - 7.30am Monday - Friday, 4.00pm - 6.00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 7.00am - 9.00am Saturdays.  These hours are a guide only. There will be extra hours required to cover, swim meets, camps and cover holidays from the head coach.


Remuneration will be discussed at the interview and will be reflective of the quality of the applicant.
